Ja’Marr Chase’s touchdown catch was so good it made the announcer’s voice crack
The National Football League is filled with dynamic downfield playmakers. But Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has to be at or near the top of any such list. Chase is a walking explosive play waiting to happen, and he has already delivered some phenomenal moments in the downfield passing game this season. But on this play against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5, he took things up a notch. Literally and figuratively. Chase and the Bengals offense faced a 2nd-and-7 situation near midfield against Miami, and on the play quarterback Joe Burrow escaped some pressure in the pocket before lofting a deep throw in Chase’s direction. Somehow the wide receiver was able to out leap the defender, twist his body to the football, and make the catch for a touchdown. You can see that play here, and not the voice range from Eric Collins on the call: JA'MARR CHASE ARE YOU SERIOUS@CINvsMIA on FOX/FOX One Stream on @NFLPlus pic.twitter.com/k4RKY5bLbY — NFL (@NFL) October 11, 2026 Chase was absolutely not kidding. Here is another look at this stunning touchdown grab: A play worthy of more looks 😮 @Bengals@CINvsMIA on FOX/FOX One Stream on @NFLPlus pic.twitter.com/uAMES4E9sh — NFL (@NFL) October 11, 2026 We would call this a Catch of the Year candidate, but we are not sure it tops what Chase did earlier this season against the Houston Texans: That toe drag tho 😮💨 CINvsHOU on CBS/Paramount+ Stream on @NFLPlus pic.twitter.com/xgHtW39CJO — NFL (@NFL) September 20, 2026 Just phenomenal athleticism from Chase, week after week.
