Netflix has released its first trailer for "The Altruists," its upcoming series dramatizing the massive multibillion-dollar fraud scheme that led to the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried's cryptocurrency empire, FTX. In the eight-episode series, which hits the streaming giant on November 19, Anthony Boyle stars as Bankman-Fried, opposite Julia Garner, who plays Caroline Ellison, a former crypto executive and Bankman-Fried's ex-girlfriend. Ellison, who had pleaded guilty to conspiring with Bankman-Fried and served about 11 months in prison, was recently hired at Manifund, a grantmaking platform.
