Turning a lens on landscapes

Over the past few months, readers might have noticed a number of photos of the American Southwest in this magazine. Staff photographer Melanie Stetson Freeman was behind the lens for all these images. She talked with me about the power of visuals for telling stories about land, nature, and stewardship.
