Almost 1 in 3 adults develop cardiorenal disease or die within 5 years of type 2 diabetes diagnosis

Within five years of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis, there is a greater risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) first than of developing heart failure first, according to a study presented at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 in Milan.
