Getting their steps in: Preschoolers walk 18,000 steps a day

Children ages 3 and 4 take a median of 18,542 steps a day, but their daily step counts vary widely, according to the first international reference values for daily step counts in preschool-age children, published in the journal The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health.
