The Packers stink, and Tucker Kraft yelling at fans only makes it more embarrassing

The Atlanta Falcons were in a dark place heading into their Week 3 matchup against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Falcons were already 0-2, outscored 54-16 across their first two games, and coming off an embarrassing loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday that inspired my colleague James Dator to write the artful headline “The Falcons suck so bad they’ve reached new levels of suck.” The Falcons were getting their quarterback back for Week 3, with Michael Penix mercifully making his season debut after a couple of Cooper Rush disasterclasses to start the year. Still, the Packers were -4.5 or -5.5 in most major sportsbooks to win the game, mostly because that’s how bad Atlanta had been to begin the season. The Falcons beat the Packers 35-14 in a loss that should send Green Bay spiraling while uplifting the spirits of Atlanta fans who thought the season might already be over. The Falcons dominated after the first quarter with superstars Bijan Robinson (194 yards and two touchdowns on the ground) and Drake London (194 yards receiving) both crushing the Green Bay defense while Penix made some nice throws and managed the game effectively. This result feels like it’s more about Green Bay than the Falcons, though. The Packers’ performance was so pathetic that the home fans let them hear it. Lambeau Field booed the Packers during the fourth quarter, there were even scant “ATL” chants being heard in the stands. After the game, Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft chastised the fans who booed the home players. Again: yikes! “That’s pretty tough. Like everyone pictures Lambeau Field and not boos. I don’t picture boos. I picture my home stadium. That’s tough. It’s pretty disappointing, especially for a home opener. It’s pretty disappointing. It’s not going to help us win. Like I don’t know what people think that’s going to rally us or something like that. But that’s — we’re grown men. We’re mentally strong enough, capable enough to get back on the field and play ball. But it’d probably much easier with the 70,000 people behind us rather than opposing us.” It’s hard to blame Packers fans for voicing their frustration after such a bad showing. QB Jordan Love was consistently under duress despite only being sacked once. Green Bay has no running game to speak of with Josh Jacobs held out due to domestic abuse charges. The Packers finished with 17 rushing yards on the night, while the Falcons finished with 249 rushing yards. The Packers’ special teams was so bad that they gave up a blocked field goal to a team with only 10-men on the field: Just noticed now, but Atlanta only had 10 on the field for the block. https://t.co/eSPcXlwtVS — Justis Mosqueda (@JuMosq) September 25, 2026 The Packers have problems in all three phases of the game right now. This team could very easily be 0-3. After losing to Minnesota and Carson Wentz 39-22 in their opener, Green Bay needed a miracle just to sneak by the Jets in overtime in Week 2. Green Bay’s roster just feels thin in the trenches, in the defensive backfield, and in the playmaking groups at running back and wide receiver. Head coach Matt LaFleur received a controversial extension this offseason, and that already feels like a catastrophe. LaFleur has a history of coaching scared, and it feels like it’s robbed this team of its confidence. Green Bay also doesn’t have its 2027 first-round pick, which was sent out in the Micah Parsons trade, and is now controlled by the New York Jets. Parsons remains out with a torn ACL, though he’s expected back by midseason. The Packers stink out loud, and their players are embarrassing themselves with quotes like the one Kraft offered after the game. It’s totally possible the Packers just straight up suck, and they can’t even dream on their draft pick in a loaded 2027 class. Bringing back LaFleur was clearly a terrible idea. Packers fans are saying this is the worst it has been in the last 30 years. It’s hard to argue. Any team capable of making the Falcons look that good obviously has big problems. It’s going to be a long season in Green Bay.
