Jayden Daniels injury: Commanders QB carted off after elbow injury
| Getty Images Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels appeared to suffer another injury to his left elbow just before halftime of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. With the Commanders facing 3rd-and-goal inside the Dallas 5-yard line, and without a timeout remaining, Dan Quinn kept his offense on the field to try in a 17-10 game led by the Cowboys. Daniels began the play under center, and seemed to trip over the linemen in front of him, using his left arm to try and brace himself when he fell. That is when the injury happened: Jayden Daniels Is Slow To Get Up After This BAD Snap. He Was Stumbling And Tumbling Around Before Just Throwing The Ball Up. That Was A Brutal Way To End The Half. 😬 pic.twitter.com/Fg8i7q9w0n — SM Highlights (@SMHighlights1) September 20, 2026 After the play, Daniels struggled to get to his feet before going back down to the turf at AT&T Stadium. Eventually, the cart came out for Daniels and he was taken off the field, with an aircast on his left arm: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels had an aircast over his left elbow. We are not embedding that replay here, but you can watch the replay to see the injury if you wish. However, be advised it is rather difficult to watch. Daniels missed most of the second half of the 2025 season after dislocating that same left elbow. He made his way back for Week 14 after initially injuring it in Week 9, but Daniels hurt the elbow again and was shut down for the rest of the season. Update: As one might expect, Marcus Mariota was with the offense to open the second half. Daniels has officially been ruled out. This is a developing story and will be updated.
