New York's answer to being ripped off is 36 more government salaries.

New York City is building a 36-person bureau of data scientists, technologists and economists to analyze company records for potential violations involving pricing, wages and other consumer and worker protections. NYC Consumer and Worker Protection Commissioner Sam Levine tells David Gura and Christina Ruffini on Bloomberg This Weekend that the effort is designed to give the city the technical expertise to enforce existing laws as algorithms and AI play a growing role in how companies set prices and compensation.
