Can India Turn Its Promise Into Prosperity?

Blackstone COO Jon Gray says India’s young population, expanding middle class and improving infrastructure are drawing interest from global investors. But India’s demographic advantage also creates pressure: millions of young people graduate every year, while formal-sector job creation has not kept pace with their skills and expectations. At the same time, Indian states are competing aggressively for investment by cutting regulatory barriers, building industrial infrastructure and targeting sectors from electronics to semiconductors.
