National Guard Presence a 'Significant Investment' In DC Safety, Says Brig. Gen. Blanchard

Brigadier General Leland Blanchard II, Interim Commanding General of the DC National Guard, said that safety efforts in the 25 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks have been a balance between honoring personal liberties and the need for security. Brigadier General Blanchard also discussed his current mandate with the National Guard in DC and how his team works in coordination with the DC police, saying that it represents a 'significant investment' in the security of DC neighborhoods.
