Moving the needle on lung cancer screenings: Medical students work with researchers to improve outcomes

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, claiming more than 125,000 lives each year. There is a quick, painless screening test that can detect lung cancer before symptoms appear, when treatment is more effective. Yet more than 80% of those eligible for a low-dose CT scan (LDCT) never get screened.
