Kauai on tornado watch as Hurricane Lowell nears Hawaiian Islands

Residents of Kauai were warned to watch for tornadoes late Monday as Hurricane Lowell edged toward the westernmost Hawaiian Islands in the U.S. Pacific island chain, the National Weather Service said.
