NCAA Reacts: Beginnings and endings in college football

Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in college football fans across the country. For most of the college football landscape this weekend will be the first opportunity to show the world what they have this season. While Week 0 was fun, Week 1 in college football is when things really get going. In a season full of contradictions, fans will finally get a chance to see real results. Looking at the betting market, there are mostly familiar names sitting atop the national championship odds. A bunch of big brands with big expectations. And considering the eventual champion has come from one of just two conferences over the last seven seasons, there is a chance it could appear to be just more of the same. But considering last year’s national champion was Indiana (INDIANA FOOTBALL!!) it is fair to say almost anyone could be crowned at the end of the season. So before the season gets kicked off in earnest, who do you think will win the 2026 National Championship? Who will win the CFP National Championship? It’s cliché, but whoever ends up winning it all will have to start off on the right foot. Losing in Week 1 isn’t an elimination, but it sure puts a team behind the 8-ball, just ask last year’s Notre Dame team. Week 1 has a bunch of great helmet matchups, seeing huge programs with national fan support face off in non-conference games to get the season started. While there is only on ranked-on-ranked matchup, there are plenty more that could completely reshape the narratives of both teams depending on the result. What is the Week 1 Game of the Week?
