Tiger Woods’ run atop the PGA Tour career money list was absurd

This year’s Tour Championship winner took home his third win of the season as it came to a close, a pretty impressive “down” year for Scottie relative to everyone in the world. What we have learned about Scottie over the last half-decade though is that he is way past the point of being able to be compared to his peers. Scottie is in truly elite territory in terms of history (future history, obviously), legacy, accomplishments, wins, and all of that jazz. Consider that Scottie did indeed pass Tiger on the career money list. But think about how long Tiger held that tiel for… 26 years! Scottie Scheffler has won $10 million at the Tour Championship, which means he has also officially passed Tiger Woods to claim the top spot on the PGA Tour career money list. 1. Scottie Scheffler: $130 million 2. Tiger Woods: $121 million Woods held the top spot for 26 years. pic.twitter.com/dVxeKUBsg9 — Joe Pompliano (@JoePompliano) August 30, 2026 Time is ultimately going to tell whether or not Scottie can truly approach Tiger from an on-course standpoint regarding wins and what not, but he is as well-positioned as anybody in the post-Tiger era has been to try and scale the mountain. When it comes to Scottie and Tiger and how one impacts the other, it is wild to think that at one point in time the former used to wear the latter’s shoes. Tiger was and remains that influential on the game of golf. On the subject of Tiger’s shoes, his Sun Day Red now has a new fall apparel line that features some in suede. You can check out the fall collection here. Perhaps someday we will be talking about a Scottie Scheffler line of the same sort of variety. Given his unique footwork there is certainly something to work with there. For now we will stick with Tiger and his fall collection.
