Glacier collapse may have caused Nepal-Tibet landslides, experts say

Experts believe a glacier collapse might have caused the catastrophic floods at the border between Nepal and Tibet that killed at least 270 people and left more than 1,000 missing. While initial reports suggested the possibility that an earthquake had triggered the collapse, the US Geological Survey clarified that the tremor was actually seismic energy generated by the collapse of glacial rock and ice, followed by a flow of debris.
