Wildfires kill 12 in Algeria as severe heatwave sweeps North Africa

Twelve people died and dozens were injured as wildfires tore through northern Algeria on Wednesday, with authorities battling more than 150 blazes amid a scorching heatwave sweeping across North Africa. Six of the 54 injured were in critical condition and receiving intensive care.
