"I don't know if I want to live to be 100 or not. But you never know," Parton wrote in her 2020 book, "Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics." Parton's music career spanned seven decades, having released her first No. 1 country album in 1977. She holds the Guinness World Record as the woman with the longest span of No. 1 hits on the US Top Country Albums chart, at 46 years and 197 days. In September 2025, she announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency scheduled for that December due to "health challenges."
