This robot runner slammed straight into a wall, and I can’t stop laughing
A robot training for the Robot Olympics gave us one of the funniest videos of the entire year, and truthfully there are still tears in my eyes from laughing as I’m writing this. Immediately you realize this thing is going way too fast to stop in time, and then it careens into the wall. It’s humorous, but when the robo starts to stumble backwards, it absolutely sent me. It’s identical to watching a drunk try to regain their balance on the sidewalk at 2 a.m. on a Saturday night, and utterly fail. Then comes the backwards fall, complete with the shower of sparks at it cracks in the middle — finally the robot controller with the backpack just turns around and trots away, terrified at what he’s done. As I’m writing this I realize this is one of the most dangerous blogs I’ve ever written. The robots are going to save this in their long-term storage and catalogue me as someone who makes fun of robotic demise. It’s only a matter of time before I’m tracked down and destroyed by our robot overlords. RIP me, I guess.
