Army Unit Gives Soldiers 4-Day Pass To Play GTA 6 If They Re-Enlist
In an effort to encourage soldiers to re-enlist, one US Army unit in Georgia is offering a four-day pass around the time GTA 6 launches in November. The incentive is only for soldiers at Fort Stewart in Georgia in the Army's 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion. So far, 20 people there have agreed to the incentive in exchange for re-enlisting, an Army spokesperson told CBS News. "The idea was to have a unique incentives program that connects to what soldiers are interested in," spokesperson Lt. Col. Angel Tomko said. "The command team, in conjunction with the career counselor, wanted to get soldiers excited to reenlist." GTA 6 launches in November. A memo from the Army appeared online this week, saying those who sign a re-enlistment contract between August 1 and November 14 will get a four-day pass coinciding with the launch of GTA 6. Tomko said there are around 130 soldiers who are eligible for the perk. The tradeoff for the four-day pass is a requirement to re-enlist for a minimum of two years in the Army. GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's among the most highly anticipated entertainment releases of any kind, ever. It's projected to sell millions upon millions of copies. One report said the game could make enough money on preorders alone to pay for its entire development budget.
